The perfect start to IPL season 7!!! #RCB displayed a brilliant all round performance with both bat & ball. ₹14 crore man Yuvraj Singh played a Man of the Match performance tonight scoring 52 from just 29 balls. The former Pune Warriors captain hit 5 sixes during his debut innings for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli helped rotate the strike & supported Yuvi while scoring the winning runs to finish with a score of 49 from 38 balls.
The bowlers were also on target tonight for the Challengers with 2 new foreign pacers Mitchell Starc & Albie Morkel picking up a wicket each. Varun Aaron & new boy Yuzvendra Chahal helped #RCB restrain Delhi to 145 in 20 overs even though a late comeback by JP Duminy & Ross Taylor was not enought to stop the explosive batting lineup of Bangalore.
With Yuvraj Singh now in the squad, it will help the team rely less on Chris Gayle who was a surprise miss in today's game. This will help Gayle by relieving him of the immense pressure which has always been solely on his broad shoulders these past few seasons. With Yuvraj & Kohli in such good form.. along with Kohli & de Villiers in the squad?, Royal Challengers Bangalore have a formidable team this year. A strong team from 1 to 11 which can easily reach the playoffs considering it continues to play the same destructive way it has.
One thing for certain this year is the SIXES!!! Expect many from this powerfull & experienced team.
